Nifty closed at 7853.45 on Thursday. Japan led the slide in global markets after the Bank of Japan today kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged, but trimmed GDP growth forecast for FY17 and FY18. Metals, oil and gas, power, auto and FMCG were among the worst hit sectors, while realty shares held ground amid the carnage. Among frontline shares, big losers included Hindalco, HDFC, Maruti, ITC and M&M.

TTK Prestige has announced its entry into the home cleaning market.

Dabur India consolidated net profit rose 16.6% to Rs 331.90 crore on 10.9% growth in net sales to Rs 2157.30 crore in Q4 March 2016 over Q4 March 2015.

ACC net profit declined 3.48% to Rs 232.19 crore in the quarter ended March 2016 as against Rs 240.55 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2015.

If Nifty future takes support near this level on intraday declines, nifty future will bounce back and move in upward direction.  At higher side, immediately hurdle near 8000-8010. Biocon reported a 79.1% increase in net profit at Rs. 360.9 crore for the fourth quarter ended March on top of higher sales and exceptional income. The company had posted a net profit of Rs. 201.5 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal. Net sales rose to Rs. 970.3 crore, up 16.84%, from Rs. 830.4 crore a year ago.

Yes Bank’s net profit for the March quarter rose 27.43% due to higher net interest income and other income. Net profit for the quarter stood at Rs.702.11 crore as compared to Rs.550.99 crore a year ago.

European markets traded higher when they opened, which provided support to Indian markets. The US Fed meets today and a decision on interest rates is expected tomorrow. Apart from this, good results from large companies such as Maruti and Reliance also kept sentiments positive.

PPF interest rates have been reduced from 8.7% to 8.1%, while that on 5 year recurring deposit has been reduced to 7.4% from 8.4%. The interest rate on Kisan Vikas Patra has been slashed to 7.8% from 8.7%. Besides, the government also has slashed interest rates on 3-year time deposit to 7.4% from 8.4%; 5 year time deposit to 7.9% from 8.5% and on girl child scheme to 8.6% from 9.2%

Telecom index gained 1.4% to 1265.10 points at the closing bell on Friday from its previous close of 1246.96 points. Telecom stocks are rallying for the second consecutive session. A relief to telcos, Supreme Court on March 17 asked Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to consider partial roll-back of call drop penalty.

Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd stock closed 4% higher at Rs. 1312. The company received environment inspection report from USFDA for plant located at Dahej SEZ in Gujarat state, according to reports.

3 out of 5 manufacturing plants of the company now have an FDA approval, The scrip opened at Rs. 1271 and touched a high and low of Rs. 1319 and Rs. 1263.7 respectively.

Sensex closed 36.20 points, or 0.14 %, up at 25,880.38. Nifty settled 2.70 points, or 0.03 %, down at 7,912.05. banking stocks rallied on a media report the Reserve Bank of India trimmed the list of companies whose loans need to be provided for against the risk of default. Asian equity markets ended mostly higher on Thursday as oil prices rallied and the yen resumed its decline on expectations of further easing from the Bank of Japan next week. The European Central Bank meeting due later in the day, although no change in policy is expected after unprecedented monetary stimulus at the March policy meeting. Japanese shares rose, as oil prices bounced back and positive US housing data as well as expectations of further policy easing from the Bank of Japan weakened the yen to near the 110 level. Technical views:

Nifty future closed at 7913.35 on Thursday. Nifty break it Psychological level of 7900 if nifty trade above and sustain on that level, nifty may continue bullish trend further, next resistance for nifty may be 7950.

USD/ INR: The Indian rupee opened lower by 10 paise at 66.32 per dollar Thursday against previous close of 66.22. Sharp rise in oil prices has failed to trigger significant currency movements. Ahead of next week's FOMC rate setting meeting, currency markets are expected to be subdued. Dollar edged up against a basket of major currencies. Euro flat ahead of the ECB meet today. The central bank is not expected to make any policy change at its rate-setting meeting on Thursday.

ASIAN MARKET:

Asian markets finished mixed as of the most recent closing prices. The Nikkei 225 gained 2.70% and the Hang Seng rose 1.82%. The Shanghai Composite lost 0.66%. in Germany leading the region. The DAX is up 0.14% while France's CAC 40 is down 0.20% and London's FTSE 100 is up 0.45%.

Tata Power Company announced that its wholly owned subsidiary based in Singapore, Tata Power International has signed an agreement with KS Orka Renewables for sale of its 50% stake in OTP Geothermal (OTP). The aggregate cash consideration for the transaction is USD 30 million.

Domestic passenger car sales declined 0.3% to 1,75,730 units in March from 1,76,260 units in the same month last year. However, motorcycle sales grew last month by 10.15% to 9,46,758 units as against 8,59,521 units a year ago, according to data released today by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). Total two-wheeler sales in March rose by 10.92% to 14,67,714 units as against 13,23,184 units in the same month last year. Sales of commercial vehicles were up 22.03% to 79,865 units in March, SIAM said.

The RBI announced reduction in repo rate by 25 basis points (bps) to 6.5% from 6.75% after a scheduled monetary policy review. The central bank raised the reverse repo rate by 25 basis points to 6% and cut the marginal standing facility (MSF) rate by 75 basis points to 7%.

The central bank reduced the minimum daily maintenance of the cash reserve ratio (CRR) to 90% from 95% with effect from the fortnight beginning 16 April 2016 even as it kept the CRR unchanged at 4% of net demand and time liabilities (NDTL).

RBI expects inflation based on the consumer price index (CPI) to decelerate modestly and remain around 5% during 2016-17 with small inter-quarter variations.
