Nifty Trend Level Today 12 may 2015—By Equity Research Lab

NIFTY SPOT: 8325.25 (+1.63%) NIFTY FUT: 8337.65(+1.55%) Bulls ended the day with a bang, Equity benchmarks surged for the second straight session Monday, even as players are divided on whether the rally can sustain. The 30-share Sensex closed at 27507.30, up 401.91 points or 1.48 percent over its previous close. The Nifty closed at 8325.25, up 133.75 points or 1.63 percent. In the last two sessions, the Sensex has risen around 908 points and the Nifty around 268 points. There was good demand for mid cap shares too, with S&P BSE Midcap Index gaining over 2 percent. Brokers attributed much of the rise in the last of couple of sessions to short coveri- ng of positions, and said there was not much of fresh buying by institutional investors.

After getting bruised for past few days, the Sensex rallied 506.28 points or 1.9 percent at 27105.3. The Nifty ended up 134.20 po- ints or 1.7 percent at 8191.50. Tata Motors, Cipla, ICICI Bank, Hindalco and HUL were top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers were Hero Motocorp, ONGC, TCS, NTPC and Vedanta. he market has maintained its uptrend in afternoon trade following positive global cues, tracking results of UK polls. Short covering post heavy sell-off in previous sessions also supported the market.

The Sensex crashed 118 points or 0.44 percent to 26599.1and the Nifty fell 39.70 points or 0.49 percent to 8057.30. IT stocks gained on weak rupee. TCS, Wipro, Bajaj Auto, Coal India and TCS were top gainers. Among the losers were ONGC, Axis Bank, Maruti Suzuki, ICICI Bank and Hindalco. Dalal Street continued to be controlled by bears on further weakness in rupee and weak global cues. The Bank Nifty saw a sharp fall of 2.3 percent today and market breadth remained in favor of declines with the ratio of 1:3. The broader markets saw major fall compared to Bench- marks; the NSE Midcap and Smallcap indices declined 1.73 percent and 2.02 percent, respectively.

The market was on fire fueled strongly by oil, FMCG and pharma stocks. The Sensex ended up 479.28 points or 1.8 percent at 27490.59 and the Nifty scaled the 8300-level.
