On the back of negative global cues, the Nifty opened 160 points down and witnessed pain for a major part of the day. However, towards the end some support was seen near 8200,which helped the index to outperform its Asian peers and end only 50 points lower. Nifty future premium remained at 1 point. India VIX rose 9.9% to end at 17.30
